Default AirNet just called me

8:00 on Halloween I got a call asking me to come and re-interview essentially. I've been in the hiring pool since last September, apparently they're running out of recalls and forcasting a shortage into the new year. I was surprised and slighty intrigued that they even remembered me or kept my interview paperwork.

Anyone else getting calls?

Interesting. I hope this isn't just for peak. Bayside on their other operations has hired for peak and then furloughed afterwards.
Also I hear that some of the runs on the furlough bidsheet went unbid.

Kind of sounds like my old interview with Mesa Air Group:

Quote:
Brief this approach.

*pointing to things on a low end route* What is this?

Your captain shows up on the van ride to the airport smelling of alcohol.. It's the last leg of a 4 day trip..*while shaking his head no* Do you finish the trip with this captain?

When can you start?

Congrats on the call! Hope the re-interview goes well.

You have to show a special kind of bravery to take a nap on that couch at the far end of the breakroom. Could be wrong but I think he lived on it for about a week.

That break room was gross.

I only flew to Philly once a week and was just there for a few minutes... I don't even remember them having a break room. Where was it?

I know several floaters that spent a lot of quality time on that damned couch!! I preferred the recliners, even though 1/2 of them didn't work, and the TV never had reception during my several 5 hour stops there.

Philly had the breakroom inside and to the right in the office, IIRC. Like I said, I never saw the lights on in there...usually the 2 recliners were occupied and the TV on but no volume. I think there were 2 recliners, anyways.

I had runs out of Philly a few times, and I would hang out in Atlantic (it's Atlanic in Philly, right?) and never had problems. I heard later that 'Net people were not supposed to be in there, but nobody ever said anything to me.

Yes....yes I did.

Sleep on the couch, wake up and head to the gym. Work out, shower, then go back towards the airport and people watch until "show".

What a week.

I agree, flying a run out of TEB and getting no sleep in the holiday inn what with the construction and all, that 2 hour nap on the recliners in BDL was a little bit of heaven. Plus my plane got to spend that 2 hours in a heated hanger.

Ya I thought that was weird too, maybe someone woke up Saturday and had an Oh S*** moment thinking Airnet would run out of pilots. Then again, operationally it is still Friday until noon.

I got the call at about 10 PM yesterday. BW said that they would be emailing me and wanted an update of my flight times, etc.

Since I haven't been actively flying for the last 3 months, I don't expect my qualifications to be very impressive compared to other pool-ees but eh, we'll see.

The other question is, do we really want to work for the "new Airnet"?
