| Yeah...I have to think that it can't be that great at the new 'Net if they're losing pilots in this economy. Like I said, guys like Blizzue have a much better chance than I do anyway.

working for Airnet pre-Bayside was equivalent to meeting the most beautiful, funny, and witty girl at the party...and taking her home and making sweet love to her all night long. [Entire paragraph recited in Barry White's voice]. Once Bayside took over, it was pretty much the same, except you realize that you owe her money in the morning. [Insert Carrot Top's voice]

It isn't losing pilots. It's furloughed pilots saying, "eh...call me in a year". ![]() Quote:

| Old Skool | Think of the farthest place from the FBO and that is where we were. Airnet had it's own place there, and it was not very nice. I preferred Bradley over my stays in DSM, if that tells you something. I did go into the FBO a few times at DSM in the middle of the night. It was much nicer, but we never went there when we were meeting up (read: more than 1 airplane coming in). |

I got called around the same time on Halloween asking me what my flight times were like and they wanted to tell me about their situation. I didn't talk to them yet but I will call back today sometime. Same guy too BW. Funny thing is I interviewed in Jan of 07 with 600 TT and they still remembered me! We'll see!

Yeah I got a call from BW as well. It was out of nowhere at around 9-10 pm on a saturday. I was surprised to say the least. Basically, wanted flight times, where I was in my flying career, and if I wanted to come in for a sim re-evaluation.

Ask tactfully when you re-interview what is driving the demand for pilots. Please be professional when you ask, but they should have a solid answer for you about it. If it's long-term growth and new runs for the company-great. If it is temporary holiday runs then there could be a furlough at the beginning of next year, when those runs are adjusted. It would be tough to move family and face furlough. I'm NOT saying that's happening here (I have no idea but I hope the company is growing). It's just a question you should tactfully ask, because you need to have all of your information straight before you accept a job. The type of flying Airnet does is a hell of a lot of fun, and it'd be very hard to find a better pilot group anywhere.

Their goal is to make everyone a full time active pilot (just as I'm sure their goal is to increase business enough to bring everyone back off of the furlough list and buy those 1900s that were supposed to be delivered when the Borg took over). That said, ljg makes a great point...get specifics as tactfully as you can before you accept or decline the job. Also realize that with the current closed base policy, if you come in at the bottom of the seniority list (and someone will have to if they hire off of the streets), you could be furloughed at any time should a base/run close. I'm not saying that will happen, because who really wants to go to BDL(?), but it's a realistic possibility you should be considering. -mini | |

I'm on the FAC at Airnet. They are bringing people back on a part time basis for now (6 month contract), but the plan is to get those people back to full time soon. We are right on the edge of picking up a lot of new business so they're trying to get some people back up to currency to prepare for this. In the meantime the part time guys will be used for seasonal charters. Also, it is true that a few new runs have gone unbid through the furlough list, they are permenant runs in the LA area.

| Overall it looks like we're heading in a good direction. The company is profitable and managment sees growth in the near future. We're still argueing about the sick policy though. That discussion got pretty ugly at the last meeting. |
