So yesterday I am at the airport getting ready to go, and an Eclipse Jet comes taxiing into the FBO. Turns out it is a Quest Diagnostic freight plane. What in the world? When did freight dogs get to fly brand new planes???? So does any one know how they are working out flying freight? I never thought about them doing that work, but I think they may be a good fit.

Quest had issues with the TBM 700's, they weren't designed for the sort of flying they did with them. Their long term plan as of 5 years ago was to use VLJ's to replace them and expand on to the midwest and west coast from the little I know of their op. Are you sure it was freight in the back, they also run "labquest" planes to ferry execs.

Yeah, it had nets in the back instead of seats. I was busy when it pulled up and didn't get a chance to talk to the pilot and didn't see it leaving until it was too late (I think our APU with bleed air on is louder than that thing with the engines running). I did walk over and take a quick peek just out of curiousity because I was thinking the same thing.

Do those eclipse's have an icing limitation? Or was that VFR? Or has it been lifted? -mini |
