I start ground school at Airnet on June 9. I was hoping somebody could give me some insight as to what all is covered and also the structure of the class. How often the tests were. Also, fun places to hang out in Columbus?

Basically everything you need to know that is company specific is covered. It would behoove you to know stuff in the AIM; you should hopefully already know basic IFR stuff. The studying with classmates will help you out way more than you think (bonus: it helps them out too). If you get free time, the bars downtown in the arena district are popular as is Easton.

Thanks everybody. Sounds like it will be fast paced but I think I will do fine. I can't wait!

If you don't understand something that you studied prior to comming to class write it down and ask at the appropriate time. The instructors will go over a lot in class and might possibly answer your question, but if not ask. I Highly suggest getting your group of buddies and going over to Dayton one day to the Wright Pat. museum.

Don't go into it thinking it's "just a baron".

| While the knowledge portion was challenging, it was not overly demanding. Pay attention and do some reviewing everynight and you will not have a problem. The Sim/Flight portion, I felt, was very challenging. If you have the opportunity do some extra instrument flying before going to class. The sim especially was the most challenging part for me. The second weekend of school you will have the opportunity to come to spend as much time as you want in the sim. I spent the entire weekend there during training in order to get by. Overall it is challenging but very doable. You will enjoy working at Airnet. |

agreed! just did that today and it was awesome! had an astronaut ice cream sandwich. hmmmm yum. but really, study the Vspeeds. I wrote them up on flash cards to help get them memorized and DO STUDY THE PROFILES! it makes the ground portion easier and flying the sims easier.
