Default Airnet SIC

If one does the airnet SIC program, does that person go to Ohio for six weeks for training and are they paid for it. Also, how do they legally log the SIC time?

<moved out of jobs available since it isn't a "job" available>

You go through the same training as if you were a PIC.
Yes you get paid throughout training and as an SIC.
It's less then a PIC but you do get paid.
I'll let someone else explain the logging as I gotta go fly and it's a little in depth but basically if you are manipulating the controls you log it as PIC and total time when you are just sitting there. Legal? Yes. Valuable time? Probably not.

If you are looking for employment down the road where they only count "true" PIC time (where you were responsible for the aircraft), writing off 100 hours or less of Airnet SIC time won't hurt that much. Writing off 700 hours of time might suck.

It's per diem only during training.

Or you could call it getting paid.

It's per diem only during training. <--- Not a complaint, merely a fact. There are places that provide you with a hotel and nothing more for training. Of course, I could wish for more...but I don't think the per diem only is unfair.

No. Per diem is for reasonable expenses when you aren't at home. "Pay" is compensation for doing a job or providing a service.

There's a difference.
