To any currrent or former pilots of Air Cargo Carriers.......the company says they are in CASS and have jumpseat agreements with over 20 carrriers, including several legacy carriers. Care to share your personal experiences with how well this works in reality? I'm prepared (at least I'm going in with my eyes wide open) for a severe drop in QOL while I build my hours with them, but if the jumpseating thing is for real, I could at least see my family some on weekends (if I could stay awake, that is) Don't want to turn this into an Aircar bash fest; already know QOL, etc. sucks. Thanks for the input.

I work for them and dont live in base. I commute home every saturday morning and back to work on monday afternoon. It sucks, im not going to lie but its the price you have to pay. Im paying my dues by working a LOT and commuting, I feel like I live in airports and in CRJs. Im fortunate bc it is a one way nonstop flight from my hometown to my base. Having CASS is a blessing because countless times flights have been full and you have to ride up front. I have yet to have a problem jumping anywhere, but not to say there wont be probs in the future. Jumping sucks but its great to be able to have the privilege. I always try to bring cookies and that makes a happy crew happier.. Theres a few guys on this site who have brought me to work a few times. One of em even had a hella landing in a hella crosswind... ;o)
