To all freight dogs who can now put winter 07-08 to rest, give yourself a pat on the back. Today is the first day of spring. That was my first winter, and I learned a gained a heck of a lot of valuable experience. Right on cue, here come the thunderstorms.

The snow and ice is gone, and they have been replaced with severe thunderstorms and tornados. I still can't get over the storms that went through Atlanta last week.

I will take the thunderstorms over ice any day. And thank God, I should be in the jets by next winter.

I was wishing I was up there at your altitudes. Got above 7,000 when I could and it calmed down a lot. Below 4 was a roller coaster. Had a throw-over yoke too, and after Boston I had to turn the SIC from pilot to sandbag with all the wind shear everywhere. |

248 knots GS in level flight from COATE intersection to VINGS this morning at 6000. In the descent from 6000 to 4000, 190 and a tossed headset. WINDSHEAR, WINDSHEAR. As far as I know my spine's good to go though. (For any non-BE58 worshippers on here, 248 knots is a hell of a G/s). |

Saw 251 once in level flight! And 270-ish in a decent. I hear ya about the headset. I'm going to have to break out my Army flight helmet if this keeps up. |

I had 245 on the groundspeed in the Commander Tuesday night between MEM and PAH. Had to dogleg east a good ways to get around a line of storms coming across eastern Arkansas...at least we weren't heading in the other direction |

I also have a pic of me doing 89 Kts in cruise from my second day in the Van. That was a night that will end up in the book I write when I can't be sued!!![]() | |
