Hey, I just talked to a friend of mine (well...not just...it's 2am, but you know what I mean) and he's looking at moving into freight in a few months after he has the 135 mins but he wants to stay in the OKC area. You guys still have anything in OKC (did you ever?)? I thought you had the PA31 there, but that may be inaccurate. -mini |

I don't know about AMF, but CASW probably has a Commander there, just like every other airport between memphis and michigan.

Thanks! I haven't been on 350 in a while. I'll let him know. He's still recovering from surgery so it's going to be a while...then he wants to teach for 3-6 months so he has some recent experience (and to build back his strength). That should get him the 135 (actually ATP) mins. Thanks for the info. -mini |

| Senior Member | CASW does not base a Commander in OKC, but we do fly into and out of there. Nearest base is Tulsa and I think the route that goes through OKC originates in Dallas.

My bad. A propos to nothing, and this is by no means meant as a bag on CASW or the Commander, but how do y'all make money with gas prices the way they are? While no doubt built like a tank, the thing is, what, 30 knots slower than a baron on the same engines? I sometimes pass one of your Commanders on the MDW-CPS leg, and that thing is slooooooow. Again, I'm way too old to care how fast my airplane is (I like the wings to stay on, though, and the Commander is apparently pretty good in that area.), I'm just curious as to how it's economically viable. Insights?

Yes, the Commander is built like a tank. In fact, I know an aviation attorney who told me the Commander is one of the best crashing airplanes ever built. Seems it holds up well if you have to put one down. Also, it is a reliable airplane with awesome single engine performance. Combine everything and you end up with a tough, reliable airplane that does its job well. | |

| Old Skool | My uncle used to fly them out of OKC, and one night on a approach they lost one engine, and on final they lost the other. That was the only interesting experience he had in the aircraft.

The OKC run is one one the best in the AMF system. No uniform, no hygiene requirements, no mountains, not bad.
