I read a post on here from a while back that Ameriflight was hiring in to the EMB120 at 500 hours. Anybody know where these planes are based? I'd want to fly out of OAK if possible, which I've heard is no problem to get. I'm at 260/30 right now with a CMEL and I'm getting the CSEL Wednesday. My plan is to CFI until I can get on with Ameriflight. I do look forward to being a CFI, but the sooner I can get on the Ameriflight seniority list the better.

CVG and CHO are filled, I think BFI is. Your best bet would be to goto DFW From time to time they have openings.

The "seniority list" doesn't really mean a ton at Amflight. If they want/need you someplace or in some plane they'll make it happen, if not they'll cite the "seniority list" or "trouble filling your vacancy." JayAre can tell you all about that. |

| Its starting to now. They wouldnt let a guy from CVG goto metro school because he didnt have the time, now he is going to leave. I had to have 3000TT to get in the left seat of the bro. They are having so many people washout in metro school so its sounds like they are starting to stick to there guns.

They do hire into Brasilia at 500 hrs. You just have to catch it when they really need someone. They are starting to take a second look at that practice because of some people failing out of training. Same goes for the metro. The metro is a handful and it is really difficult for people to come off of the streets and breeze through metro training. It just ain't that easy!

| It's a training captain position. You go through indoc and aircraft-specific training (PA31) like everyone else, and then you train new incoming flight crew members in the PA31. The advantage is that you join the seniority list immediately, so when you get the part 135 IFR mins, you can bid on a run in the base, the 99, etc.

Im with Jtrain they use whatever excuse they can. One way to bypass the min time to upgrade is the FO program. Come with 1100 hrs buy your 50hrs of BE99 time and apply. So yeah you can be a 99 captain with 1200tt and 100multi. BTW. SLC might be all 99 and metro base in a couple of months.

They do hire at 500 hours for the E-120. Currently 2 openings for FO's (LBB and MAF). As far as 3,000 to the left seat? B.S. I had 2,400 hours when I got it and since I left they are upgrading my FO to captain with 2,400 hours... As for SLC 1900's... Last I heard (few days ago), they were putting a Metro back on St. George since they split the Cedar part off of it. Putting a 1900 on Idaho Falls. They never had more than 2 1900's running for UPS anyways. |
