Default WX

So that was some pretty interesting weather last night in the south. Was anyone else flying in that? I was in BHM waiting to go to New Orleans when that crap came through throwing mobile homes all over the place.

Oh and that reminds me. And you can qoute me on this.

Somebody once asked me how do you decide not to go flying into a storm. I said "When there are more mobile homes flying than airplanes."

LMAO!!! That's awesome! God, I miss flying freight. It hurts me when the CA wants me to ask ATC to "go around some buildups."

Don't worry ackeight. Soon enough you'll be living in Kansas, where the summers AND the winters are crappy.

And we were all drunk by the time you pulled up.

True. I don't think I'll be moving there till after winter though because of the shortage of Van pilots. So I'll be dodging tornadoes like yesterday more often. Do you know if anyone else is moving out to Kansas w/ me? I think Mike T. said I got the one w/ less time/duty, but didn't sound too confident about that. haah. It doesn't matter to me because I'll be back before sunrise.

It would be nice to think so, but the truth is that this summer a large number (one is too many) of passenger flights will be flown through thunderstorms during takeoff and landing. Just as there have been in all the years before and since the DFW crash.

Currently I'm seeing the northern portion of the system. No trailers flying, just snow. Forecast for 8 inches today. Fun.
