| Junior Member | Hahaha...It's pretty bad huh? The PHL couriers are pretty unreliable. One night a guy came from the bank and got to the airport only to realize he didn't put the work in his car...you got to wonder

I'm currently in training right now and it looks like BHM is one of the open runs. If anyone has anything to say about living in the area it would really be appreciated. Thanks |

I did the sic thing there for a couple weeks. The inverness area off 280 is pretty nice. Its a bit of a drive to the airport, but not bad. Plus Oak Mountain State Park is nearby which is a really nice park. Several good runs down there and day schedule stuff as well. There are other areas of Birmingham you don't want to live though. I really wasn't there long enough though to know areas other than where I was. Lot's of other stuff open right now, just curious why Birmingham?

I grew up in BHM and like the other poster said the Inverness area and pretty much all along Hwy 280 are good places to stay. I'm not sure how old you are but there are a LOT of twenty somethings that live around that area. Let me know if you have any other questions about the BHM area. I just started CFIing and Airnet is a place I'm looking at down the road. I have a friend who used to work there and had nothing but great things to say about the place. Hopefully the hiring boom will still be going on in 8-10 months. | |

you weren't the guy who came in at 5:30am, interviewed at 9, then left again at 5:30? If so I was the guy who was impressed that you thought your sim went well. (No one seems to ever think their sim went well)

Congratulations! Me too. If the rest of the guys at Airnet are anything like those of you who post around here, it's got to be a great place to work. |

Quick question for you airnet guys, for the sic program, do you start off in the van as a sic or the twins? Just curious, got an email to call for an interview, was thinking about it. But to be honest, been a 121 F/O to long I forgot most of my tech. stuff...

No offense, but how long could you have been a 121 f/o if you still need to SIC at Airnet?

"Dude, you've flown that much at night? With no autopilot?" "Single pilot IFR is just asking for an accident." "Your approach was fine. Just make sure that you arm the approach mode . . . your flight director wasn't even giving you any guidance." "No radar at all??" Those are all real quotes . . . Wusses . . .
