Default Airnet Prop Bases

I've consulted the base list on the airnet website but it's divided up between prop and jet bases. Can any current Airnet guys post a list of which prop bases have which aircraft? For example, the base list says Richmond is a prop base but doesn't state if the runs are baron, caravan, or Navajos. Also, any details about the runs out of Richmond would be much appreciated. Richmond is appealing because it's close to home but I understand that I'll have little choice when it comes to base selection. So why not try to learn about all the other bases out there, right?

Hi - welcome to JC!

Are you thinking about interviewing at Airnet soon?

When I interviewed they asked, "where don't you want to be based? Plan on going there." You're right - you have little choice, but a lot more these days than there used to be. Plenty of open runs.

As for your question, I don't think such a list exists. I'd try to list some of the ones I know, but I'd probably get some wrong.

In the end though - does it really matter what base has what prop? You bid for a base, not an aircraft. If you get the base, you get trained in the aircraft if you aren't already.

I know nothing about Richmond unfortunately.

By the time someone posts the list it will have changed. That's how it seems like lately.

I am aware that aircraft get moved around constantly and that runs open and close. However, if you want to get a glimpse of what aircraft may be operating at a particular base you could go to www.flightaware.com and put in the airport code that you are looking for. For example, I just put in KRIC and was able to deduce that the run, or at least one of them, out of there is a C208 Caravan run. It looks to me that it goes to Charlotte, Raleigh-Durham, and Baltimore-Washington on a regular basis. Hope this helps!

USC901 and USC902.. both vans if I remember right (something makes me think there is also a baron or chieftain out there that is used instead of the van on occasion).

Thanks for the flightaware suggestion. It's provided plenty of info.

I wouldn't depend on flightaware.
Plus we have alot of open runs right now that are being chartered out.

I didn't think we did VFR PICs. I remember that Flight Express did at one point. I don't know if they are still doing it.

Dan, you in Philly now? I just heard tonight Russell went out to PHX and wondered what you ended up doing.

Yea, I'm in Philly doing 184. I talked to Russell just last week, he seemed like he was doing well. How are you liking TEB?

Can anyone provide details about Airnet hiring bonuses? I feel like I read about it somewhere but I can't remember where.

If you come to airnet with less than 135 mins 1200 etc you get 1500. If you meet 135 mins you get 3000.

I just moved from Memphis two weeks ago and and just settled in. The cost of living is a good bit higher but there seems to be plenty to do around here. You also have to deal with the snow and ice. But we do have our own maintenance guy. The run starts at 1845 local and averages about 7 hours a night. PHL-PNE-HFD-TEB-BDL-BOS-BDL-PHL is the routing. It finishes about 0430.

Cool! WX has been sucking here recently (Im just west of PHL, N57), and it doesn't get too much better for a while, unless it is a warm winter. Sounds like a good run though. And one more question, where is the AirNet ramp in PHL?

The crappy part of the Airport, oh wait that's right, it's all crappy. On the northeast corner.

Im just questioning, all though ahead of myself...would one day like to work at AirNet or just 135 freight in general. I have tried to tell friends to look into AirNet when they get some time built, but once they find out more, single pilot night with alot of IFR shys them away....one told me "but I wanna save my ass in the process (of going somewhere else)."

I also might see if I could work as a ramper there in Philly (if it would be worth my time driving a hour each way) or somewhere else like Atlantic Aviation or maybe even at USAir.
