I just noticed that Airnet now has no minimum flight time requirement to apply. If I remember correctly, it used to be 500 hours. I know they are hurting for pilots, but I can't figure out how this move helps. What good does it do to have a huge stack of applications if they're from low time guys who you can't use anyway? Can someone enlighten me?

Are they hiring guys into SIC positions with less than 500 hours?

I guess we're even hiring interns now - people with a just a PPL... not sure what happens to them though, if you're interested call the recruiting hotline to find out the details.

I guess it's becoming possible now to let the ink dry on your commercial multi certificate and land a flying job. I learned and saw a heck of a lot of new things as an SIC with Airnet, but I really valued my time flight instructing too. I wouldn't trade it for anything. |

Yes, but at the published 7.69/rig hr, and the avg assignment accuring 101.3 rig hrs per 2 weeks (NO guarantee) ... lets see ... $20,253/year. I suppose this is proportionate with the industry standards for a CMEL SIC?

I'm willing to say that SICing in our props is some of the best experience you can get at the sub 1000 hour oppurtunities out there.

But me, I'm juggling a family, so of course compensation has to meet a certain level to be considered. That's all I was wondering, really.

| Old Skool | You know it - doing pretty well at it so far. Blacked out the hotel window which really helps. Gotta wake up early tomorrow though for a 1200 lunch with the D.O. |

| Find a sleep mask. It takes a little to get used to but blocks out the light far better than anything else. Walmart has a good one in the luggage/travel section.

| I hear that the interns go through the ground school but not the sim or baron. What's up with that? What do they do then after they are done?

So from the inside guys, what are the odds of actually getting a call if you only have 261TT 9.3 Multi and a CMEL and CSEL? And how long did it take them to call you?

| Old Skool | I don't think they are going to go that low. I really don't think it'd be a good idea because I doubt you could pass through training with that low of time and that little multi.

Hmm a FAM flight would be fun. Looks like a good company to work for just by reading their FAQ's. Too bad they don't have a base in ROC, one in BUF which is a hour away but they say commuting is not recommended.

| Not sure about that. Back when I had 500tt 7.5 Multi I got called and asked to come for an interview. That was almost a year ago. Apply away is what I say.....

Getting called for an interview and passing indoc training are two completly different things. By all means apply and see what happens. At the very least you'll get to see what the company is all about. Just know that the training program is pretty intense.
