Default AirNet - A Class of One?

Is it all possible my class could be only consisting of me?

And when they say class is 5-6 weeks, can they actually mean 17 days?

Got a very interesting email...

aw man that blows...looks like others didn't show up? I can't imagine them running a class just for one person.

When I trained at Ram Air, I had a class of two. It was originally supposed to be four people. One person called and canceled, and one person no showed. A class of one is unusual, but not unheard of in the part 135 world.

And what's weird is how military-esque this all is. I got an email that kind of reminded me of military orders... and another that kind of looked like a military training schedule... weird, man...

So what happened? ...Oh that's right, you could tell me, but then you'll have to kill me.

Don't worry... If they ask, I'll tell them you killed me.

The last several classes have been two people. I guess it would be possible to be a class of one if nobody else showed. I went through initial training in April and am very happy at AirNet. The schedule they sent you is probably pretty accurate to within a couple of days. If everything goes as scheduled, you should be done in 3.5-4 weeks. I am not sure why they say 5-6 but they told me that also and it ended up being just short of 4. I thought the training was top notch. I believe it to be amoung the best in the 135 world. The people at AirNet are great, the flying fun, I am very impressed with the maint. PM me if you have any questions or if there is anything I can do for you.

It's stated at 5-6 because you may have to get trained in other aircraft, including a possible trip to the van sim. It's about 3.5 weeks-ish from start 'till PIC check.

One of my FLX buddies started out with a few other people in her class. After a couple of days, it was just her and the instructor sitting across the table from each other, learning the material. It happens!

I've got a shiny one!! Maybe I should be more selective of the WX I go through?! I'd hate to be that guy that sends one back with a nick in the paint...

My last one was Friday night. I wish I was making this up but last leg, put the gear selector down and no green. The gear light burnt out. Two-light baron too.

Oh, man - so much for "being in the car in 10 minutes", huh?

Ha ha. Needed paint, so they got repainted. No matter how nice a plane is mechanically, you get more hassles when they're ugly.

Sweet - how do you like it down there? I was thinking about asking for LCK as a base if there was anything open.

And if you don't mind me asking, for how many hours did you SIC, and how long did it take to get up to 135 mins?

Supposedly they are hiring people into bases now. Ian if you want columbus, you've probably got it as long as you don't mind floating. Last I checked, there are about 6 floater spots open in LCK. That was last week, because my SIC is almost done and he wants Columbus as well.
