I gave someone a call at Flight Express yesterday just to talk to someone about a position but no one was there. Today I get a call from someone and we start talking. The guy (I was so excited I forgot his name ) asked me about my times and I told him about my background and even the deal at Airnet. He then told me there was a class on the 19 and they were bringing in VFR guys as long as they had 500cc 75inst and 1100tt. We talked about bases and that if I wanted to come down for training, let him know tomarrow . I even asked him about an interview and he told me I just did it. No messing around this time. I have pleanty of money to use to get time under the hood in a faster airplane and Im starting to study tonight. Anyone have any helpful advice, ideas, comments? |

practice approach procedures on flightsim if you can. Get in a real airplane and practice. Study some more...practice some more. read this. http://www.austincollins.com/archive.htm bust it out for the next couple of weeks and you've gone a long way towards getting your career back on track. PM the current/former flight express guys and ask for some advice. good luck, congrats. |

STUDY HARD!! Here's my gouge from the FLX training program: http://forums.jetcareers.com/general-topics/25926-the-gouge-on-training-at-flight-express.html It's tough, but well worth it. Good luck to you. I'll be down there for Baron training sometime this month . . . maybe we'll cross paths and have a cold one at Smokey Bonez . . . if you have time.

The guy you talked to on the phone was probably Gary, the company recruiter and comedian. The ground school is 95% straight off of http://www.austincollins.com/archive.htm Everything you will be tested on is in here. I suggest printing off all of this material, and reading and learning as much of it as you can before you get there. Your ground school instructor will be Austin Collins. He is a very good teacher, but there is a lot of stuff to cover in one week. Pay particular attention to the Cessna 210 Flight Training Handbook. While you are in ground school, make sure you spend some time sitting in an airplane practicing your flows and checklists. Study hard and you will be fine! |

Excellente!! I'm happy to see somebody jumped on my post, positively that is. BTW, I only indicated no phonecalls 'cause that's what they stated. Are you doing the VFR 135 thing and are they paying the $23,000 or more? Best of luck to ya! You're career has officially hit the fast lane. |

| As far as I know, pay is determined on the run I hope to get a long run. I heard they have some open 14 hour duty days in CPS with free housing so thats where I told Gary to send me.
