| Old Skool | Hahahahahahahaha. That rocks!!! I didn't know approach told you to let him know you had him in sight!! Okay, for those wondering what this is all about...the story behind this little clip and what to listen for. Last night going into MDW, it was me following a SWA, then our Lear behind me, and good ole mnixon in Starcheck 361 following. Well, the Lear passed 361 up going into the airport, and everybody was going to tower. A little background...the controller that works the tower is known for being grumpy and none of us have ever heard him say anything but standard phraseology, etc. He's always a professional, just always sounds like he's in a bad mood. Well, as 361 checks on with tower, and reports the Lear in sight, the controller comes back with something to the effect of "he should be in parking by the time you land, clear to land." Then to top it off, at the end he tells 361 that he thought he'd have to slow him down, to add insult to injury. Ahhh, the joys of flying a Caravan. Especially in Midway, and Chi-town's airspace!! ![]() It's a shame they didn't record our company freq during this!!! It's a good thing 99% of the time, but this would have added to the quality. |

| Old Skool | I had something similar happen to me up in Palwaukee. They vectored me right infront of a citation and you could hear them sound grumpy when they were asked to follow a Cessna 208. So when she checked onto tower she asked how much they had to slow for the 208 ahead and tower gets on and says if you pick it up 20kts he might still be there to hold the door open for you...I'd pay high dollars if I could ever get that tape. |

| Old Skool | Yeah I've never been to midway so I hope I don't eff it up too much when I go in there the first night. Between that and scott and james telling me how much the baron heater sucks in the winter I have a feeling I'm gonna miss my van and two legs a DAY. |

| Old Skool | Well, otherwise, nobody would really know what they were listening to. Feel the love!!! Keep in mind, I fly the same slow thing you do!!!! Of course, I'm still trying to figure out how I caught you that one night. Hahahaha. Dude, I'll leave you alone now!!! LOL Mike, MDW isn't too bad. Just remember, get everybody in sight...you'll be behind all of them!! Of course, your new run comes in after all of us, so it's much slower and usually just freight dawgs getting in then. When we come in it's usually 4-5 SWA, Citrus, a "regional" and the three Starcheckers. 22L is the preferred runway for where we park, so don't expect to use it much. It's usually 31C. You'll have that approach memorized in less than a week. |
