AMF called my friday for an interview. I declined because I had accepted another freight offer in ABQ. So Im sittin in my hotel room in ABQ again because ground school has been cancelled again for the second day. Im thinking I should call Jodi back and ask for an interview with AMF

Are you really sure you want to go to Aero Charter Transport over AMF? You'll be making 42g and have an ATP and a type at AMF before you even qualify for health insurance at aero charter transport. If you live in and have deep roots in ABQ then okay. I have a buddy who was there for a year and says he was there a year too long.

Im having second thoughts now. I wanted to get to work right away chartran called three weeks ago. I had applied to AMF over two months ago hadn't heard anything until last friday. There is someone in our ground class who has been with them less than 30 days so far two engines lost one on t/o roll the other cruise/climb and than a gear collapse yesterday. Because of the gear collapse policy is go back to ground no matter whos fault. Im sure if I keep typing of the things already I've seen and heard I would talk myself out of it. BTW they don't have J/S with southwest as I was told they did during my phone interview. |

Your decision should be pretty easy to make now. AMF has pretty good maintenance from my experience. I never feared for my life and neither should you.

If you waited for 2 months to get "the call" from AMF, it's because you didn't take matters into your own hands and call THEM. To all who want an interview... Do your online app., wait a week, then call BUR and ask for pilot recruiting and just talk to Joni. Seems to work for everyone who does it. As far as roach motels go... I've stayed at all the layovers in SLC and the only roachy one, IMO, is in Vernal. I'm usually at an Ameritel up in Idaho Falls with free full breakfast, wireless internet, indoor pool, new fitness equipment and a Wal-Mart within walking distance. Of course, this is at the top end of layovers, but the rest are pretty decent. I've heard of pilots coming to SLC with 1300 and 300 right into the 99. There is no "approx." hours for ANYTHING here... It's all supply, demand, and how well you impress. If you REALLY want SLC then apply, call SLC chief pilot, send him a resume, call BUR, call SLC, call BUR, call SLC and then kick butt in your interview. It can be done. Yeah, the schedule pretty much sucks, but the management in SLC, the crews, the fast upgrade and cheap cost of living make it worth it. Managment is doing their best to make the schedule better (more reserve days, potential 3 days off per week), we just can't seem to keep enough pilots to make it work (cough cough Robair) |

standing bid for BFI is kinda worthless.... by the time they bring you over, you're not going to want to fly a chieftain. You'll be in a Metro by then at another base. waflyboy.... get that time up! They haven't found anyone yet. Still interviewing though. Last edited by Trybysky; October 19th, 2006 at 02:37. Reason: addition to waflyboy |

OK this might be asking to much but could one of you who has the info please PM me the SLC chiefs contact Info. I would really like to try and get in the 99 in SLC right off the bat if possible. Thanks again for all the help and info. One more question. What is the pay in the 99?

Hopefully in a few days I'll have finished earning the right to have that picture under my name. Until then, I'm just a Citabriapilot-wannabe. But when I do... brews on me at The Pie. God knows I'll have accumulated enough per diem to afford it. | |

You haven't been to The Pie?! Are you still in SLC? We'll let you know. Hopefully I'll be out of here by the middle of the week, so sometime after that- maybe Thursday night. That is a pretty funny avatar, haha! |
