Default Any CFI-I Freight Dogs in the Akron/Cleveland Area?

I am looking for a Freight Dog who has a CFI-I, located in the Akron/Canton Area, and looking (or just willing hehe) to do some instruction on the side. Mostly ground work, although possibly some simulator or a/c time. Rate negotiable, will pay cash. Prefer at least 1 year freight dog experiance.

If you are interested and qualified, please PM me.

Thanks!

Is there a reason why the freight dog experience? I'm not a CFI, but I know some people around here.

Well, it's obvious that he's looking for somebody that has done something more than just flown around the pattern in clear skies!!

I think he's actually interested in getting ahead of the eight ball on 135 regs.

Y'know...that's kind of interesting and it has me thinking....

Could there be a specialized type of CFII curriculum designed to prepare pilots for 135 freight? I really don't know the answer to this...but it seems logical...

There already is! It's called thorough, quality flight instruction!!

If you can fly to the PTS, in real weather, and know how to read a watch, you can fly freight!!

In thoery . . .

Before I went to my 135 gig, I was told not to study the 135 regs and just be current on 91 IFR. It helped tremendously. The 135 side of flying should be taught to you by the company. Know 91 to get through the interview.

I hope he does not get angry that I answered for him, but I PMd him and he is working towards his ATP and is looking for some advanced IFR knowledge, and would also like someone with experience above FL180.

Most Frieght Dawgs don't go above FL180, but good luck on the ATP!

Sure they do. I'd venture to guess more freighters fly above FL180 than below it. Just depends on the plane.

Don't understand why he wants someone who's been up there though, unless he's wondering about RVSM. 17,000 and FL190 aren't exactly two different worlds, just don't forget to reset the altimeter.

I figured more below as more aircraft doing freight over the big boys. Too bad your not in the area to talk to him. He is close to me.

Eh, half our company is above 180, probly more than half of esf's, then there's bank air, cherry air, usa jet, ati, kattalina, dhl, ups, fedex... just to name a few.
