| My position. Done 2 years of college, 2 more years to go. No debt. Hoping to start training by next summer. Lessons will be most likely 2-3 times a week. Bachelors degree anticipated by the end of 08. After a lot of research I definitely want to start out at a place like airnet. I read their requirements, and I was really impressed. Assuming that I did get my bachelors degree and meet all of the minimum requirements, do I have a better chance getting hired over high timers w/o a degree? Also, I would really appriciate any advice in condition to my position right now. Thanks |

| "do I have a better chance getting hired over high timers w/o a degree" I'm not Airnet expert but I am a freight dawg. I don't see why they would care if you have a degree one way or another. It's not a career job. You're getting the degree for the hope that you'll have a shot at a job, down the road, where it matters. The really good jobs in this career are the ones where having a degree makes a difference. Not the entry level ones. "Also, I would really appriciate any advice in condition to my position right now" Finish the degree, get the ratings through CFI. Instruct as much as you can and build up your time and experience. Move on. End of story.... |

| Old Skool | I would have to agree with DE727. I too got my start in freight after instructing. All the freight company I worked for cared about was: minimum number of hours and can the guy fly. Everything else was a mute point. When moving on to the airlines, that is where my degree and experience came into play. |

| until you get to the UPS/FEDEX level, NOBODY cares if you have a degree or not. If you have the minimums and a degree and somebody else has the minimums and no degree you will both be hired because most likely 4 guys just quit last week. Flying freight is fun!

| if you want to fly freight (part 135) it really dosen't matter with a degree. I suggest you finish it because in the long run it really won't hurt you! |

| Old Skool | Don't ever, ever quit college more than halfway to a degree for a job, but don't ever, ever think of not applying for jobs just because you don't have a degree. It's not black and white. It's all about YOU.
