If some of you do not mind i am going to take this off topic for a few replies...This question should be so easy for you all that it really doesnt rate its own thread taking up valuable space.. I know what a type rating is but what is it physically? Meaning is it in the form of a log book endorsement, or does it go somewhere on your physical FAA liscense, or is it some form of training completion certificate? I was just curious and it is one of those things that will bug me until i know the answer, i spend all of my time below 12500#'s so i wouldnt know, but i should be in type rating land soon. Thanks for your help! Sorry to barge in on someones post. as far as beer...i prefer hefewiezen when i want to spend the money but when i am feeling cheap i drink the "go to" bud light or Miller light, depending on the mood. When i am feeling super cheap Natural light usually does the trick....However here in Iraq i only have Coors NA or O'douls BLECH...anyone want to mail some liquor to an FPO AP? SUPPORT YOUR TROOPS!

It's a new rating just like IFR, so you get a new license. I still have my temp for 757/767 type but the FAA should have a new one in the mail any day now....

That is good info, So after a long career i could imagine the license getting pretty crowded with most having COMM AMEL on top of CFII MEI ASEL and than add a few type ratings i bet it gets pretty crowded for real estate on that license. Side note..I heard that Martha King hold something like EVERY SINGLE rating involved in aviation? Not sure if it really means EVERYTHING but i am guessing all fixed and rotor and maybe some glider...interesting i guess.

I've heard that people with a huge list of type ratings get 2 Pilot's license cards sent to them, the second one being a "continuation" of the first so that all the type ratings can be listed.
