| it would not have been scary, but it would have felt like WORK!!! If the FAA removes every NDB in the US except one, I think it will be the one that I have had to use for th epast two years ![]() ![]() ![]() |

| Old Skool | I've only shot one NDB approach since I started freight dawg'in it. Of course, all training includes at least one, but watching the GPS (when equipped) while doing those approaches will scare you (poor accuracy for the NDB's). Favorite...sitting here in a coffee shop so I can get internet access while on standby, when everybody else is out drinking and watching the bball games (but I'm getting paid, so it's all good). Okay, seriously, end of the night, approach to minimums and you see the approach lights, knowing your night is ending... |

| Old Skool | Yeah, that big blazing ball of heat they call "the Sun" really gets annoying Yes, approach lights end the day...it's a beautiful sight to end the night, as you know. I also enjoy the 30-40 mile visual approaches, clear to land, here's your outbound squawk ( haven't had the clear to t/o with the rest of that, but I'm sure I will)...you'll never get that during the day. |
