| Old Skool | Any Airneters on here know what the current bid list is for Airnet prop bases? I realize it probably won't be the same by the time I can bid, but I'd like to start practicing apartment hunting. I might even be interested in a cheap crashpad at where ever I end up, so I can look for apartments when I get there. Have no idea what I should do, yet. Never done this before, lol. Travis |

| Room mates.com is a pretty good place to start if your moving to a new city and don't wanna get locked into a lease. If you really wanna apt rent.com is pretty good so is apartmentfinder.com. I'm sure the airnet guys have some sort of message board and somebody might have a room opening up. |

| Old Skool | Thank you much. I have the list of bases, just curious about which ones are currently opening for bids. The URLs will help big-time though ![]() |

| Old Skool | I haven't looked at a bid sheet in a while, but I know what I've been flying. We had 2 guys just get MEM based, there are a couple runs open in BHM, but I know one person who is bidding one of them, I know Philly opens a lot, BUF might have a run or two open, TEB is almost always on the bid sheets. By the time you get done with training, you can pretty much forget all this, though as it will be different. Remember, do NOT ask during training when you get to bid. It will probably be after your checkride when you get to bid, and all you will do is upset the instructors if you keep asking. Plan on just getting through training first, then go from there. I know, it's not the best system in the world, but it almost always works out in the end. Good luck and see ya in LCK some time. TX |

| Old Skool | I see I see. Can't wait for training. I think I'll be in the 31 Jan class, but they haven't officially informed me yet. I think they're still trying to fill the 17 Jan class, but I just couldn't square that early of a departure from my 3 part-time jobs. Travis |

| Yeah, just to reiterate, there is zero way to figure out what will be open when you are able to bid. The way I was told, figure out what would be the three worst bases possible, and plan on one of those. That way there's no disapointment. I took my first checkride on November 15th-ish, and I'm switching bases Feb 2nd. I have zero idea what will be open.

| Old Skool | Just to expand on that...we get jumpseat privileges (cabin only, supposedly working on CASS). The list of reciprocating airlines is pretty good...most regionals, some cargo companies, and all except the largest "mainlines" or big boys. (IOW no DAL, AA, UAL, CAL, USAir, but the rest I think we have). We do not get any buddy passes/etc. like the 121's. Immediate family can ride on our system only. |

| I don't see RIC very often on the bid sheets. I got hired in 3/04 and had 1250 total and 200 ME. They seem to be taking guys as low as 800 TT now. |

| Old Skool | I just got hired on Friday...well actually "selected for IPTP (Initial Pilot Training Program??)". I have 1160/70. I think one guy in the interview had about 800/25 or so. |

| As in every position at Airnet "Depends." Depends on what other people want, depends on when you attend training, depends. If you stay long enough though, I can guarantee you will get a floater spot, when that will be? Well.... depends .

| Old Skool | I finally confirmed my class start for the 31st. I had to call them like 3 times. They were gonna send a email like a week before. I didn't think that's enough notice. Anyway's, anyone have any pointers for the beginning of training? I'm definitely taking my car. I searched around a little but only found threads that talked a little about the hotel (two to a room) and the car provided.

| They'll send you some info, but during the day shift the dress code is dockers (or something similar) and a collared shirt, once you go to the night schedule jeans and a collared shirt covers it. As far as the class goes, I'd recommend studying every night with the rest of your class for an hour or so, it worked for our class (the 6 of us all got above a 92% on the indoc test). Also, the weekend before the sim training week try to get at least 10 hours/ person in the sim, it will make your life much easier. If you need to travel to visit fam or etc., the first weekend is doable, the second you should be in the sim, the third and fourth weekend are possible too (as long as you get all your studying done). Also, if you get an "average" on your evals, be happy with that, it takes a lot to get a good, and excellent is almost never given out. The class is a ton of great info, and takes some work to get through; definately don't get into the thought process that "it's only a Baron, how hard can this be." Good luck with it all, hope to see you at Rick.
