Yo, just wondering if things are still as bad as they've been at Grand Aire in the past. I have a friend who was just hired by them a month ago and is helping me get a job with them. It seemed like a great opportunity for me (a 1600TT/550ME cargo pilot) until I started doing some research on the company. I've pretty much made up my mind to stay away at this point. Does anyone have anything good to say about the company. Have they changed their practices and policies? For what it's worth.

I can't confirm it was Grand Aire...but a few months ago I saw a couple of Falcon 20's who (if I remember right) did belonged to them. Let me just say I've never seen bigger POS's. One of the planes broke down...they brought in another one...and it broke. I don't know of many places that can crash 2 airplanes in the same day. I'm not sure if they've changed anything, but I wouldn't go near anything they've operated. There are definately better places to build time.

Being from St. Louis you should be familiar with this company, as they had two airplanes crash here, less than a year apart.

I'm not from St. Louis, I'm from Philly. I never heard of the company until my friend got a job with them.

I used to work line for them, they are a disgrace to the industry. Bringing in people from the russian air force to fly a DA-20 and work 27 days a month. Give me a break, needless to say I worked there 3 weeks when their attorney gave me a paper to sign where I had to keep quiet about what I saw going on there. Good luck. |
