Default Any cargo outfits?

I was wondering if there are any cargo outfits in the Mid-West? I am trying to come up with a game plan for the future, and freight seems very challenging. I know I could relocate to other areas, but I love the the great lakes states.

Many, the most popular seem to be Air Cargo Carriers and Airnet.

I know a guy that knows a guy that flies for freight runners in their '99. I think he is out of MKE. He likes it ok.

I know a guy who flew for central air southwest. Don't go based off their name - he had runs in the great lakes area.

CC - to find jobs, this is what I did -
  • Go to http://www.raa.org/airline_directory/
  • Look through all the companies that have equipment that you want to be in. Also, even though their HQ's are in one state, it doesn't mean they don't have runs in other states.
  • Go to their website, or call, asking about jobs for pilots. Also look for a route map of some sort.
  • If they don't have anything on their website about hiring, call anyway, a lot of smaller companies don't bother updating their website. If you feel bad cold calling, hit *67 on your phone before making the call and then say you're a different person when they ask your name .
  • To get more info on the company, post about them here or on flightinfo.com, another good, albeit b!tchy forum.

This method worked well for me when I was sending out resumes. At worst, it serves as a nice checklist so to speak

Also, check out my post in the thread titled "cool vid" in this sub-forum, which will show you what its like to fly freight in the great lakes area .

Good luck.
