We decided long ago not to support an actual JC chat room considering some of the conversations in the past and things that occurred. We don't want the site to be associated nor do we have the folks to moderate the conversations, words used, flaming, impersonations etc. Most use AIM and have a Jetcareers room open and that works just fine with us. | |

I'd rather stab my eyes out than have an official chat.
People barely behave themselves even though what they post gets indexed on Google and Yahoo nightly, I can only imagine what type of liability I'd have with a chat!

Welll... lets see if I can scavage whats left of my ground to stand on... hehe
My thought was it was more like when you see someone online (why CAN you by the way...?) you can instant message them... only a one on one deal (block em if they harass you).

Everyonce in a while you'll see a post for an AIM Chat
If you have AIM, just send yourself a chat request to "jetcareers" and you're in.

orrr mabe I should just add my AIM SN | You can always PM someone. Also a user has the option of not being visible in the "Members Online" section, so even though they may be "online" here at JC, they're not visible (with the green dot or their name in the users online).
Just add your AIM screen name to the thread in "networking".
You can always invite yourself to the AIM chatroom "jetcareers" anytime and see if someone/anyone is there. If you're really bored you can put a post in the lav saying "AIM chat anyone?", usually people will bite on it
It's just too much hassle to include a chat room in the JC umbrella, the mods have enough to watch with the boards, there'd be no way we could moderate a live chat room. The logistics are just too much. Using an AIM chat room allows even the mods to be there and just chat like everyone else! And yes, the mods have been known to be in the JC chat, often! But, we're not mods there
