Weird HTML when I quote posts?

I'm getting a lot of < then the br then the closed bracket when I quote messages, and it seems not to recognize me hitting enter as a line break, and melds everything I have to say onto one continuous line unless I do the < then br then > Any ideas?

Shift + refresh fixed it.... It wouldn't let me click the images (smileys) and insert them either. Weird.
