Lightbulb JeppView for flight school / contract programs

What u liked about it and disliked. Once ordered how many people can use it monthly/yearly?

Average 18 SP's / IP's would seem that it would be WELL worth the time and money....right?!! Only $374 for the first year, then drops down to $274 for the second year. You can install on 4 different computers and auto updates from the Internet.

Tell me what ya'll think.

Get a color laser printer. Nice and crisp prints. Keep in mind you'll only have one enroute binder, but students can pick up enroute binders for your coverage area pretty cheap. It's not a bad idea if you manage it correctly.

Sp's already photo copy plates for use, so I don't see how that would save Swiss paper. Then add Swiss already paying $30 for individual SP paper Jepp packs....looking at an annual cost of $3,300. Don't see how they could spend that in buying extra paper and ink for the new JeppView.

Most Flying clubs and Flight schools in Europe use JeppView, every time you print out a chart you drop some change in a box......

Swiss uses Lido charts anyway, so going with NACO would not be a problem

Alex, that sounds about on par with Euro aviation, spend money anytime you mention flight.

But J, to be honest Jepp view would be a good deal if FSA can get 1 or 2 copies and spread them out. I don't know if you can get a cheaper deal on specific regions or not. For example, I dont know if you would need the northwest regions, etc.

Yeah, only need southeast. FSA is currently paying way too much for each individual.....not sure if DG working system and making money off it or not ....

Step 1: Buy Navsuite Subsrciption (or just Jeppview if that suits your needs)
Step 2: Get cheap plastic 3 hole binders for the students, that will fit jepp paper from Office Max.
Step 3: Buy jepp printing paper.
Step 4: Print a "subscription" of local and often used airports for your students at a price of ($xx.xx) per course/semester/month/week/one time/whatever. (You aren't charging for charts. You're charging for printing. *ahem*)
Step 5: Print revisions when they are issued and give to students for binder updating.
Step 6: Chillax.

*you really need a color duplexing laser printer for this to work. Price per page for laser is MUCH lower than for ink and the resolution is much better. More students = more prints = more cost effective for laser.

Have you heard or read anything in the license agreement that Jepp would "frown" on if we only buy 2-3 license agreement for say 30-40 aircraft and 100 student (average)?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but most university's do JeppView right?

Why would you buy that many licenses? You can put 1 license on 4 computers.

I'll read the agreement later (after the ballgame) to see what I can find.

*edit*
Maybe I won't read the license agreement later...doesn't look like I can find it on my computer.

Found something in small print....Jepp won't look into the issue (per customer service) but if they wanted to make a big deal out of it.....(big flight acadamy) they would win legally. It reads "....one license per aircraft....". Hopefully I'm reading it wrong.

Interesting.

...I can put it on 4 computers but only 1 airplane? Weird.
