| It looks like FSA have lowered their hour commitment from 800 to 600 http://www.flightsafetyacademy.com/g...or%20Track.pdf Why would they have done this? |

| not sure why the reason but it shortens your stay here as a IP. Could be the effect of regionals lowering their minimums. |

| Senior Member | Pretty much, yes. In this day and age, FSA is having a hard time getting CFI's with the crazy reduced minimums that alot of the regionals are hiring. Therefore, by lowing the CFI contract they believe it will look more appetizing than signing a 800 hr. |

| Hi guys, just some questions:1)How many multi hours (approx) can you expect to have at the end of your commitment should you do the MEI2)What is swiss standardization? |

| You can expect to have almost as much single engine time as you do multi engine time. I know some guys that leave with almost 500 multi, others with as little as 200. It just depends on what students you get. Swiss standardization is a contract we have with Swiss International Air Lines to do specific training for Swiss. |

| Thanks Bliz for the quick reply...now I'm going to exploit that . I have another question, - must you do the stage 1 (P/Comm/MEIR) part of the course as per the pdf. file with few ME hours (55), or is that part of the course flexible like in the other Commercial programs offered there where you can do more ME hours before having the option of going on to the CFI course? Hope my question doesn't sound too confusing........Or is that just pretty pointless stress (or just not worth it) since you are already going to rack up so many multi hours as a CFI MEI |

| I understand what you mean. Personally If I had to do it all over I would probably do the Single engine commercial instead of the multi engine commercial course. I paid a whole bunch of extra money when I ended up instructing almost 200 hours in the twin. The syllabus time is only for 55, but most students go over at least 5 hours total. If you want you can do time building in the twin but the insurance requires an instructor to be on board. |

| Senior Member | You can rent the twin if you have 2 CIME grads as well. It works out nicely if you want to pay the money. If you are an MEI you can rent the Seminole single pilot. |

| Senior Member | Theo rented a Seminole and I KNOW he was not multi stanzd. He rented solo too, i saw him get the signoff. |
