Oh I hope not!

That will mean FSA's prices will more than double for UK students wanting to go there.

Oxford students pay nearly $200,000 for their training.

That wouldnt affect people training at FSA in Vero.

UK is expensive thus the prices...

And its not 200,000 but more like 130,000-160,000 dollars .. still a lot but not 200,000

Lets see if anyone can let us know if its going down.

I heard this yesterday from a friend who is at Oxford finishing his JAA.

Oh im worried now, I really hope they loose the bid if they have put one in.

And from the students that ive spoken to at OAT they tell me that the course costs £65k + £6k CAA tests exams etc + £25k living expenses. thats £96k about $170,000 (sorry I rounded it up )

If FSI do buy oxford I cant really see students from the UK spending $170k when they can fly over to FSI in the USA and spend $70k

This would be the case if FSI decide to merge the businesses and call OAT FSA. If they keep the businesses completely separate then it should be okay.

FSI doesn't offer a JAA program, they would probably keep it separate.

Last I heard they were focussing on the Multi-Crew Pilot's Licence.

Otherwise known as destroying the last dregs of European GA.

FlightSafety has a program with PTC in Ireland, but all the JAA licenses are given in Ireland. From what I heard PTC is crap and a ripoff.

If FSI went ahead with a JAA program in Vero Beach they would have a lot of customers because of the lower prices they will definately offer (Compared to UK), plus from personal experience they have the best flight training in the world. The only problem is, that the Instrument JAA license has to be done in a EUROPEAN country .. if they buy Oxford I guess they would control that also. Let's wait and see..
