I'll be arriving the 4th of January to start the CFI class on the 8th. They mentioned the orientation is on the 5th, what does that include? |

Orientation is pretty much an introduction to the school... where to find things and who to talk to... basic information and you'll get your uniform. Stuff like that. | |

| Only if you make it seem that way. I was only 18 when I went to Flight Safety and I did not feel out of place. I was always used to hanging out with people older than me anyway, so it really wasnt that much different. When they all found out how old I was they were suprised, saying I had the maturity of someone much older. Another guy that was in my initial class who was also 18 ended up failing out of the academy because he spent to much time partying. He was suprised at the fact that we actually had ground school and didnt just go loop the cherokees right off the bat. So yea, maturity is the key to succeeding AND fitting in at FSA. The only part that really did suck was not being able to go drink and have fun with the guys, but that just gave me more study time to get out of there quicker I guess. Have fun, Good luck |

I do. Although they recently mandated that FSI employees can no longer live in the dorms, which is forcing a lot of the CFIs out. This doesn't apply to me yet, but I'm a few months away from being done with CFI, so it's a little disconcerting. Unfortunately they just don't have enough room anymore. Which in itself is good news, because we're getting more students. However, as opposed to being able to live here for the cheap employee rate, you have to find a place off campus to live. |

did they give you the option to have a shared room or one of the dorms with 3 bedrooms? those bungalows are hella expensive.

The dorms are pretty full right now. Bungalows might be the only option.
