Not too bad really, the swissair building lost part of its roof, the main maintance hanger lost its doors but everything inside is ok, dorms were mostly unhurt except for a few shingles lost on the bungalows. Piper factory on the other hand lost most of its roofing, aircraft seem to be ok however. Power was only down for 3 days, although other in town were without power upto a week, maybe the airport grid gets prioity *shrugs* Still a week until the aircraft come back however.

Well, we were just having so much fun in Alabama that we all voted to stay another week. Actually, we were waiting around to see what Ivan had in store for Vero Beach. They figured that it would be easier (read: cheaper) to keep us up there than to have us fly back and forth.

Ironically, we ended up re-evacuating for Jeanne the following week. It's a good thing that we did too, because Vero Beach was hit pretty hard and it would have definitely wiped out our fleet.

All of the planes are back in Vero now (as of last Tuesday/Wednesday) and were back on track.

Strangely enough however, all the old Fightsafety Seminoles that are sitting on the north ramp all looked like they were undamaged, although a V tail beechcraft did get flipped up and over the fence into the parking lot, which was parked next to the fuel pumps and now upside down.

I heard that the Beechcraft was not airworthy, probably not good to evacuate either

Aparently the airport tried to contact the owner for weeks before the hurricane but was unable to reach him/her. So they towed from the north ramp to the fuel station to let it ride out the storm. Not really sure why they did that. *shrugs*
