UPS is hiring a couple of assistant dispatchers. Resumees are only accepted online. Our assistants start out at a little over 47k with full benefits. Inside recommendations go a long way, so if you know someone here look them up. https://ups.managehr.com/screening/p...?jobreqid=7905

2 more years of experience and I will apply to come down to the ville, but alas, not quite there yet. Typically how long are the assistant dispatchers assistants? Also, the qualifications list 135 as acceptable time, are new hires typically from the 121 environment or is the dispatch office made up of a mix bag of backgrounds? Appreciate any insight.

Assistants are upgraded anywhere from a few months to a few years, but about 1 year is average. It really all depends. We don't have anyone closer than a few years from retirement, so upgrades would come from unexpected losses and expansion. Pretty much everyone is hired from a 121 operation. Some have previous 135 or fractional experience, but still had 121 in their background. Most recently they have been looking for heavy jet international experience. Hope that helps.
