Well I just finally joined here i've been reading for a couple months anyways, I am 17 and have one more year of Highschool left. As everyone does I would like to be a pilot. I was just looking over the Pro Pilot program at the end where it says, you have the oppourtunity of getting a job as a Multi CFI.. I live in Ontario Canada so i'd have to re-locate but really what makes this flightschool look better is that almost guarnteeing the CFI job, But what are the chances tho, like i mean its 2 students you have to do first right then you will find out? Like if i dont get in that I will have tons of student loans to pay off and really no job to back it up unless i get a little job here and then i cant get hours.. Whats the comparison to people trying to get CFI postions to rejected people? Is it your pilot skills or your overall attitude towards the student? Im sure i could do it if i gave it 110 percent but i dunno what hes looking for and id be really bummed if i didnt get accepted .. And also about that 4 year degree, how many years or credits does the Flight training put towards your 4 year degree? anyways im sorry to bother you Andrew |

[ QUOTE ] And also about that 4 year degree, how many years or credits does the Flight training put towards your 4 year degree? [/ QUOTE ] at my school it's 30 credits for all flight and ground school training (PPL - MEI), thats about 1 years worth of credit, but it probably varies at different schools. don't really know for sure about the CFI hiring, supposedly if you get your first 2 students done with no problems/complaints you will get more students. One thing to note, though, is that in this industry there are no guarantee's. Ari-Ben is legit, but look at it more as a job interview than an actual job because if you don't do well with those students, you're not getting a job. If someone says beyond a shadow of a doubt you'll have a job, then they're full of it and trying to take your money. Read up on company's like Gulfstream for what I'm talking about (but don't ask about it in general topics unless you want to be flamed out of the forums). Cheers John Herreshoff |

Andrew, Don't put the horse before the cart. Get a 4 year degree in something first (minimum). This industry is to volatile, and the training to expensive to have such a narrow focus. You need something to fall back on if you should lose your medical, or some other unforseen obstacle. Most of the students at the Aviator are college educated. Additionally, airlines favor college educated prospective employees. While in college, you can work on your private at a FBO, get X/C experience, etc.........then, with diploma in hand, give Mike a call and sign up. The school has been around for nearly 20 years. Mikes son Ari is a key employee there now. They will be there. As far as getting a CFI job with Mike, I have written numerous posts concerning this. Look them up. |

No, there is no restrictive time frame set by the school, just your own. When I was still instructing, one of my fellow instructors left with 320 TT. Others may have upwards of 1500 TT before they leave. It depends on how much effort you put into the job search. L. |
