Default Pro-Course !!

Hey all...

I just wanted to get in touch with anyone planning to or currently attending ari-ben as I am planning on beginning the Prof. program in July !!

As of late how is everyone's training going ?? Are you still progressing as expected or any unusual bumps along the way ?? I am trying to get in my PPL checkride before I leave but work hasn't been to helpful !!!

Just basically curious as to everyone's experiences and how your training is progressing !!

Fly Safe All !!

Hey Patrick. I'll be starting in June. Just curious, where in Pittsburgh are you at? I'll be in West Mifflin Monday before heading to Florida.

Hey, I visited Ari-ben last month and I plan to attend there
in the first week of August. I visited all of the following schools:
Delta, Tab, E-Riddle capt program, Pan Am, Ari-ben, ATP, Gulfstream and a few local FBOs. Ari-ben came out on top because it is a non-b.s. program alot of multi-hours compared with all of the others and of couse cost. The planes are not brand new, but neither am I, I'm 36 career changer(former stockbroker 9 yrs.) and I want to give it a shot without braking my pockets in the process. Now in all honesty, I was very impressed by Gulfstream's program and it is in the back of my mind of going there after Ari-ben. Any opinions on that?
Be nice.

Stay as far away from Gulfstream as you possibly can. If you want to know why, go ask about it in the main forum and view the lashing you'll get (or save everyone else the trouble of the lashing and read the forum archives about Gulfstream).

Cheers

Mentioning Gulfstream around here you will get a tongue lashing like never before. Curse words get less looks than the words Gulfstream Academy

Ohhh no, don't say that horrible schools name! That is pretty much the number one sin on this website. It is blasphemous and should never be said again on this website!

[/ QUOTE ] Ari-Ben is a good choice, just instruct for them for a while afterwards and stay away from Gulfstream! You, your wallet and your fellow pilots will all be much better off.

O.K. I got the message Gulfstream is now officially off of
my slight possiblity list. Like I said, it was in the back of my
mind. I do appreciate everyones input on the subject. I went over some of the old posts, and I don't think that it would have
been a good move. Now that all of that is over, is anyone else
going to Ari-ben in the near future? If so, let me know and we can talk. Thanks for the replies.

Chuck.

Hey Patrick,
Hope to see ya in Ft. P. first, what made you pick Ari-ben and secondly, have you (or anyone reading this post) heard of the PACE program? Exactly what is it and do you know of a web-site or anyway I can get info. on that program?

Thanks.
chuck.

Hey Chuck..

You'll have to refresh my memory as to the PACE program.. I know I have caught the ad's in flight training magazine I think but forget what it was.. ( outside the FAA's program with the same acronym).

As for aviator though... I have been flying out of an FBO and have a great instructor but just feel that if I could take the time to just concentrate on flying for a while I'll be better off in the long run. Right now I feel as if I'm squeezing in flying only when I can on the weekends.. The flying part is going great.. it's the reading and groundwork and just spending time learning outside the aircraft my job is keeping me away from. I already have my Master's Degree so hopefully I can always go back to the corporate world if need be.

The school though was a personality decision I think... I really like the fact they are really upfront and honest and seem to have a great work ethic amongst the staff and students. Even if the planes don't have all the pretty glass cockpits or fun gadgets, I figure I'll pick that stuff up later as I move upward anyhow.... My goal and expectations are to become a fundamentally sound and employed pilot with some great multi time lol.. and hopefully with a little luck and perseverance this will put me on that track !!!
