| Old Skool | Don't spend more than 3k if you do end up doing one of these courses. If you can't find one for that cheap, PM me. Nevertheless, one can reference the recent CPS RJ Transition course thread in the CPS forum for more information into why these courses are bad for our profession (You do want to be a professional correct? Or are you doing this because it's a "Cool! Job" to have?). Make the right choice for you and the profession that you will, hopefully one day, find yourself enjoying. But don't short change your professional worth for a short term gain and financial hardship. |

| this may end some of the bad press on RJ cousres, I have called some Regional Flight Dept, Mesaba, Pinnacle, Colgan, ASA....and all agreed that these couses are very valuable, With a 25% drop out of Training it is preety good to get some prior training. Yes it is a given that you will be retrained their way of call out, flows etc, but basic system knowledge a in some cases sim experience was better. It seems that pilots who are already in the dream jobs may not like the fact that guys could get the dream jobs with "paying dues" like they did. My answer to that is a sign of the times, this window is open and it doesnt open too often. |

They could hire more experienced people and lessen the drop out rate and the need for extra credit RJ classes. RJ courses do three things. (A) Increase the bottom line of the pilot factories. (B) Decrease the net worth of the people contributing to (A) (C) Decrease the training cost of an air carrier who hires marginal individuals by having them pay to have themselves trained to minimum standards prior to employment....Alleviating the employer (hopefully) of having to repeat training events. | |
