| Junior Member | so i am a couple days away from getting my cmel and am looking into ari-ben to do my cfi-s....they supposedly do em all for a 10,500...wondering if that is a realistic price...also supposedly you get 5,000 back if you stay with them for 6 months...I am wondering how legit that is if you literally get cut a check for 5 grand or if it is based on some stupid bonus incentives if you pass x amount of students...my plans are to go there for the 2 months to pass the 3 checkrides...instruct for six months down there...and then come back to cle were i was basically guaranteed a job with commutair if i got some instructing hours in...i am getting a leave of absense with my f/a job there to do this in the next couple of months so i have some major decisions...any advice would be appreciated...post or pm Thanks, jhugz p.s: its 2:30 am so i apologize for the grammar

| Junior Member | That sounds entirely too expensive. I did my CFI initial for something like 3 grand, and my CFII I don't expect to cost ore than a thousand... MEI should be around 2 grand depending on the airplane. Well, I guess that comes within a few thousand, but as per the refund incentive, seems like flight schools are really good at Bait-and-switch. |

| Call them, ask for Ari, I think he'll give you the straight scoop. They are hurting for non-European instructors, so the offer as I understand is what they say on the web site. Interesting that the instructor program offers 5K and the pro pilot program offers 4K, both for six months

| My experience of the place is a little dated now but I will say this. Make sure that they have an instructor available who can sign you off. In the past the school has been bad at getting CFI's done fast. You don't want to be hanging round for six months because of the schools incompetence. The market for pilots is cooling down right now and will get worse (in my opinion). Get your CFI's, hours and regional job ASAP and don't do the MEI and CFII unless you 100% have to. You can't afford to hang around now. Quote:

| Does anyone have any recent experience with the Ari 5K flight instructor reimbursement? How exactly does it work? Does the six months start the day you take on your first student? Do they just cut a check? |

| Senior Member | What's going on right now? Are there enough airplanes/instructors? I'm getting ready to drop 20k there, so any info would be much appreciated... The earlier the better. Thanks.

Yes I'm painted as a bitter and twisted loser. I'm probably a bit on the twisted side but not the other two. My career is live and well. I've gained nothing from my near three year campaign against this school; except a bit of coldly dished out revenge and the satisfaction of opening the eyes of a few people to how this school operates.

(Nana! You can't touch me!) Yes, there may be a few to agree to that perspective of you. Yes, there are a few who read your words and raised an eyebrow. There are many others who followed the comments of many on this forum more incisive than you who performed a "due diligence" analysis of the academy by visiting and asking staff, faculty, and students those hard questions. . .then chose to attend. Their final conclusion of your posts? "Bitter and twisted!" Perhaps. As for your being perceived as a loser? Subconscious self analysis perhaps? Last edited by MFT1Air; May 17th, 2008 at 15:23.
