Default CAPT vs Sterling Flight Training

I was accepted in the CAPT's flight program a few months back and I like the way they have everything set up, plus the help with job placement before school is completed is a HUGE plus but on the other hand I have looked at Sterling here in Jax and it is significantly cheaper than CAPT is but it takes a little longer to complete all of the ratings.

My question to you guys that have finished school is do you think it is better to go to an FBO or go to CAPT with job placement and does having attended CAPT look better on a resume than a small flight school?

Not sure if you posted in this forum by accident. CAPT and Career Pilot School, LLC are not the same entity.

In regards to the following question:

No. The airlines don't really care where you go for your training.

Dont know anything about CAPT, but I used to rent from Sterling and they keep the planes in pretty good shape and the Malone family are all very nice and pleasant to deal with. I'd vote for Sterling, good luck with your decision

i've been renting from the malones at sterling since jan of '06. I did my private and instrument ratings there, and would like to finish up my commercial there in the fall. i often fly my wife and son in their aircraft so i really trust the mechanics there. they are very nice people and they take good care of the aircraft. feel free to p.m. me if you have any questions about sft.

The thing with CAPT is it sounds like you don't get a CFI after the course. The thing to think about is what happens when you finish the program when none of the airlines are hiring? At least if you have a CFI you can continue to gain flight time, get paid, and when the airlines start hiring again you will have the hours to get hired even without CAPT's help. Just my $.02
