More info needed. What's your age, level of education etc?

Sorry didn't see the school part. How many credit hours do you have and towards what type of degree? The reason I ask is there are many options out there. Do you have all of your core curriculum which would be close to an Associates Degree?

I was kind of curious about this myself... I've been reading up on various schools, and it seems that some of them will give you credit for your certificates if you already have them, but don't want you to give you any credits, or as many, if you earn your certs while taking classes. Should you get your certs first, or can you earn your degree at the same time?

Please excuse me if I've asked this before.

Yea I just wanted to collect a bit more info before recommending a plan of action.

For example: I'm planning on attending ATP this year. I have an Associates Degree in Business. Utah Valley State has an online degree program in which they award credit hours based upon flight training at other institutions. Also they will honor an accredited Associates degree for the core curriculum. Therefore as I see it after completing the ACPP at ATP and transfering credits from my associates degree, I will lack about 45 or so credit hours towards a BS in Aviation Science(or whatever the degree is titled) They have online courses that can be completed after you make it to the regional level.

Figure while at a regional you have 10-12 days off a month plus you can study while overnighting. It's not out of the question to be able to carry 12-15 credit hours per semester.

My suggestion would be:

1. Finish Associates Degree before entering a flight school.
2. Complete your certificates and ratings.
3. Instruct to build time.
4. Find a regional ride.
5. Finish Bachelors while flying the line/reserve.
6. Look Major, Freight, Corporate etc.

I'm 23 and I'm not sure about how many credits I have but, I know I'm not to many credits off of having my associates degree in Fire Science. I was thinking about doing the online classes but I don't know much about them and I didn't really know if you would have time to be able to do the online classes while flying at a regional?

Nice thing about an online degree is you can do it online. That means when your sitting on your laurels in an airport waiting for your next flight, sitting in a hotel room, sitting at home, sitting on hot reserve, sitting anywhere but the flight deck, you can work on your degree. Its basically up to you and how much you want it!! All you need is a computer and a WI-FI card

A lot of online classes are a little bit harder than "normal" classes though. Most "normal" classes the insturctoe will pick through information you need for the test whereas online classes follow the syllabus to the T.

Brotha you don't know how right you are!

I took most of my classes to finish up with Embry Riddle online. Physics and Labor Relations was a motha.

Some teachers have their own syllabus that sometimes has nothing to do with the book and consists of alot of internet work but the catch is you need to know the book for the mid term and final, and not just sections like in a regular classroom the entire book because you have no idea what's going to be on the test.

The pro to that is you do it when you feel like it to a degree. Sometimes I just didn't feel doing #### all week but I knew I could make up for it the following week

Yup. Online is alot harder than in class. It's also more expensive. Embry Riddle charges 42 dollars more a class.
