I am way too lazy to tyoe so I will just copy and paste what I PM'd another JC'er earlier this week. I went to OFT a year ago and did my Private and most of my Instrument there.

It's like any other larger FBO or academy. Just watch yourself and if you feel you're getting screwed, you probably are, but it's the same just about anywhere you go. If you're concerned with something, ask someone on here and they will guide you or I will guide you straight. OFT is the cheapest in the area, planes are in decent shape, good airport in KISM, they have a pretty nice sim, a lot of international students who only study because that is what they are there for. They have a ton of planes so you'll rarely get shut down by scheduling, I think they are hurting for instructors really bad though. The plus side is if you stick it out there and instruct you will build time very quickly. Best advice I can give you is to give them money in VERY small increments. Like $3000 at a time, fly it off, then give a little more. Other than that, you're options are Air Orlando (Nice but very expensive), and Sunstate Aviation, again, nice but more expensive than OFT. Hope this all helps, let me know if you need anything else.

Overall, not a bad place, just watch yourselves

Hola Alex. Coma andas? He vivido ahi en Madrid durante tres años. En la calle Quintana, al lado de Rosales.

Why not get your training at home. There are a lot of schools over there now. Try http://www.flighttrainingeurope.com/index.php It is down in Jerez. It may seem more expensive at 97.000 Euros but consider it is 15 months long and covers room and board in near luxury lodging with a private ensuite room. Consider the programs in Florida cost half of that but they are only five or so months long and they stick you in a ramshakled frat house environment. Ademas, España has killer unemployment benefits, you would not even have to work while you are in school in Spain and the Spanish government would pay you more than the RJ pilots pull down here in the US. Don´t worry they will take it back when you start working, at a rate of nearly 50% tax on your income.

Also, the financing is based on the EURIBOR so interest rates will be much lower if you have to finance it.

There are at least ten more schools in Spain alone not mention the rest of Europe where there are too many to list. Try also http://www.aeromadrid.com/index.php?newlang=eng, it is over at Cuatro Vientos airport just outside of Madrid.

Maybe most importantly, since you want to work in Europe, you will start networking in Europe by going to the European school. The networking you do at Ari will, most likely, not help you develop contacts in the European market.

Buena Suerte.

thanks hmscalpe but even doing it in madrid i think that it will cost more than going to orlando or usa in genral you must think that now the exchange rate is better for us, and what's more the time, i can do it there in one year, the language i think that is better learning in english and i am going to get a lot of experience flying in the skies of usa wich is more difficult than flying in europe........
