Any good FBO's along the eastern side of Florida anywhere from Daytona down to Miami? I'd appreciate any suggestions.

This will probably seem like a shameless plug, but I highly recommend the FBO/school I teach out of: Palm Beach Flight Training www.pbflight.com 561-963-8821 We're based out of the Lantana (KLNA) airport and are also opening up a new facility at the Stuart (KSUA) airport in a few days. Why us? Well, we've got a large fleet including 172SPs, G1000s, 182s, and older 172s for those on a budget. The prices are better than anybody I've seen down here, scheduling/availablity is very good, and we really are about customer service. The owner actually treats her CFIs with respect, we get paid more than anybody else around here, and I think that translates into better quality for the customer. The business has also been around for quite awhile (12 yrs now I think?). I did my initial primary training here a few years ago, then went on to get my ratings in all kinds of other areas of the country, including CO, CA, and TX. When it came time to find a place I wanted to instruct, coming back here was an easy decision after dealing with all the other crappy schools I'd been to. Good luck on your search! |

Hit up the Tiki at Fort Pierce (FPR). Their Touch 'N Go burgers are famous for a reason. Gas prices aren't bad, either... or at least as far as I remember.

Avion Aviation in Sanford. Good school, decent planes, decent rates. A lot of instructors there come from a large flight academy next door so it's like that big school, except cheaper and without all the B.S. Check em out. www.avionairacademy.com |

| Senior Member | $95K?? Where are you looking? I see PVT, INST., COM. SE & ME for $30,180. Then CFI/CFII/MEI/AGI/IGI for $9,000. That adds up to a grand total of $39,180...

| Nice people, 3 miles from my house, adjacent to my college, clen facilities, and it is a Cessna Pilot Center (Which really doesnt mean much). Just did my BFR in one of their gamin 430, auto pilot, equiped 172. Every flight school is pretty much the same when you step out of the door and on to the ramp. What matters is your CFI.

He made me go back up with him in the same plane so he can fly it from the left seat to see if he could tell if something was wrong. Of course nothing is wrong and the engine sounds/runs great. I didnt think it was necessary for him to charge me for that part of the flight when I sat there and didn't do anything, but he sure did.
