| I was wondering if anyone from the Atlanta area has any comments about either Advanced Aviation or The Flight School at Briscoe Field in Lawrenceville. It seems like both have a small number of aircraft. Advanced Aviation has some Diamonds as well as a few Cessna's and do the multi in a Piper Geronimo. The Flight School has 172's, an Arrow and multi in the Seminole. All my time thus far has been in 172's and I am going to finish up my commercial and would hate to have to spend some extra time and cash learning a new aircraft for the commercial ride. At any rate, I think my plan is to finish up my CSEL, get CFI-II, instruct there if possible while doing multi and MEI. The other option would be to press through CSEL, multi and then all instructor ratings. My dilemma is that I would only be able to instruct part time. My best case is to get through them all, instruct part time to build up some cash so that I can afford to take the financial hit when I decide to go to a regional. I would also be building time, obviously, and would hopefully become a more attractive hire to a broader range of regionals. I want to get back to training but I don't want my recentcy of hours to hurt me by starting back now and not financially being able to go to the regionals for a year or two. But I can counteract this by instructing and build a greater experience and proficiency level I might not have otherwise. Sorry for the long post. I guess i just wanted to get a feel for the possibility of part time instructing along with any info about the schools. Thanks for the input as always. ![]() Last edited by AUAeropilot; June 21st, 2007 at 14:34. |

| I trained at advanced aviation and have nothing but good things to say about them. A great FBO. Walk into the owners office at anytime and he is always open and willing to help. |
