Default studying ppl before 90 day pro pilto course?

Hello im new here as you can see (post count) and this site is fantastic, its a goldmine of information.

my question is, is it a good idea to buy a private pilot study kit and begin studying for the exams before starting a 90-day fast track pilot course? or should i let the CFI decide when is best to start the written material. thanks people.
