I asked for the information you inquiered about and Mike gave me these estimates to relay to you. For specific details you need to talk to mike or mary. Contact information: Micheal Cohen 3800 Saint Lucie blvd. Fort Pierce, FL 34946 1-800-635-9032 (772)-466-4822 These are Approximate numbers: tuition $43,208.75 VA reimbursement $24,728.25 out of pocket expense $18,498.00 including: 190 hrs multi 55 solo 10-15 hrs single engine inst., multi +single commercial, MEI, CFI, CFII This does not include: my housing is around $500.00/month incudles utilities I pay extra for the huge gym by the house $80/3 months Other costs include books, checkrides $300/ per attempt payed by you to the examiner, written exams at $70 dollars per exam, pilot supplies, and general living expenses (food, car, gas, entertainment). I would recomend figuring out what you need per month including rent ,food, supplies, checkrides, etc. and add that to tuition costs minus the VA money and that should give you a ball park figure of total out-of-pocket expense and the loan amount you will need. Charles, I guess the total cost before the VA reimbursment would be roughly 43k plus roughly 3k of checkrides, books, etc? I assume you are in the VA program. Are you staying within that range or spending more? T |

This is without the VA rembiersement. The cost of the program is the minumum hours but, Mike tries hard to keep you close to the price and hours you are quoted. When he tells you actual numbers he does not hide additional costs i.e. extra fuel surcharges or other costs. Instructors want to get there students done ASAP without running up the hours on them. The VA program has minmum hours but, many of the lessons are repeats allowing full understanding of the material so not finishing in minums hours is rare but it can happen depending on the student. Usually people using VA benefits have an advantage because of there military background and there will and drive to succeed. How hard you work depends how much more you will have to pay. Like any school! Study each night before your next event then you should do well. Slack off and it will end up costing you more money and time for lessons that need to be repeated because of errors made due to improper preperation. I financed 35K and I have more than enough money left to finish the program with the VA payments. Charles | |
