| Students are just moving in up at the new housing, I saw two of them last night at Wal-Mart and they seemed excited and happy about their new place. Not heard from anyone else who is moving up there since it just happened. The course is scheduled to take 6 months although I would guess for many it takes more like 7 or 7 1/2. Mine will be about 8 months total as I had money issues and went home for a few weeks and didn't fly for almost 3 months. I would guess you could take 4-6 weeks off of that time if you already have your instrument but need your multi-private.

| The quality of the housing was never a problem, so I'm sure you'll be just fine Supra. There were a few problems recently regarding the legal rights of the students renting them. Mike Cohen's wife nearly got herself a trip in a cop cruiser over it.......but that's another story. I'm sure Mike will be happy to tell you about it. He has a great sense of humor! The Pro Course, and how long it takes? That's been covered many times before. On your first day at the school Mike will enrol you and tell you that's really up to you, depending on how motivated you are. Tell him from me Florida Flyer, that he doesn't know what he's talking about. You'll soon see what I'm saying is true. Catherine, is telling you 7-7.5 months. But then, she did pretend to be a student offering impartial information, when in reality the school was paying her to post on JC. I'm telling you nine months if you're more motivated than average. Otherwise, this could be a looooooong painful process. Maybe you have Twin Turbo's Supra, but Aviator, management doesn't. Keep your options open and I hope your training goes smoother than it normally does. At least the training you do get will be good. Last edited by Florida_Flyer; October 28th, 2006 at 14:09. |

| The housing isnt to bad really if you can get on 12th st those houses are pretty nice now the pines i think is were those who were living in the panam houses are being move. and were new students will go. I have not been into the apartments after they did the "renivations" but when i first came to the school i helped move people out of there to panam and that place was a dump it still lookes the same on the outside but i hear they are nice inside???? who knows.. i live in a house i got away from the schools housing. i save about $200 a month and most places will let you in with a 6month lease if you have the chance you may want to go that road. i personly didnt mind living in the student housing when i first got here they had me at the woods of vero that place is section 8 housing "low income" i along with 2 other guys were paying a total of 1500 a month to mike now when i was looking for my own place i checked with the woods and found out the 3 bedroom apartment was 750 a month.hmmmm maybe a little markup???? but it was furnished with mike so i guess that is fair. now for living conditions you will have a good time if you get student housing the only thing i had an issue with was on a few occations i woke up to a couple of un named staff members in my bedroom. My LOCKED bedroom yeah they have keys. and there is a lady that "cleans" but she has a tendancy to take more then just trash . ok thats my 2 sents on the housing. sometimes i think people ask the wrong questions. as someone who has been to a couple of schools (yeah it took me a few befor i found this place) im gonna say this place is a great place to come to.. there are loads of problems but thats the nature of flight schools i think. pretty much all schools have issues but i always seem to be able to fly when i want.. i have been a student for a yr now i know you guys say it takes around 7 months to do the progam and i am going to have to say that is about right. of the yr i have been here i have spent about six months back home.. yeah i know but thats the reality now i could say ahhhh the planes are always down or blah blah whatever it would be true these plans get flown alot i am guessing the hundred hours get done like every 10 days or less.so sometimes your plane will not be online but my experiance has been if you wanna fly you will fly you can always find a plane.. now the issue i dont see getting addressed is the people at this school. (students) i have never meet a better group of people. i like almost every single person here everyone is fun to hangout with and everyone seems to be here for the right reasons so when considering a flight school i think it is important to talk about the experiance outside of the actual school invironment now some people want to be robots get in get out and get on but thats not for me i want to enjoy myself... thats why i fly planes i enjoy it . if i was going at ATP pace i think i would quit if i am not having a good time then i dont want to be here. and you will have a good time. I have been reading the posts on jc for a long time now and i wanted to wait and post when i got completely finished with the program but oh well my mei ground school is ending soon so i will hopefuly be working for the school soon any one who askes about the school i always tell them the same thing if you are looking for new planes and all the frills aviator aint got it but if you want to get good training with a laid back feel i dont mean pace i mean the actual feel of the school and you want twin time at a good price the aviator is perfect and the people are what make it that way im not sure that some of the staff runing the school have a clue about that but the students make up for it... wow i will shut it now i just rememberd i am not writing a book ![]() |

| supra, I pulled some of the off-topic posts out of this thread to try to get this back on track. In moving the posts I also took out one of MFT1Air's, and in it he asked: Quote:

Hmmm, from this and other threads, looks as if my graduate degree should be in business management specifically MBA. Then I'll come down to Ari Ben as their Director of Operations. Mr. Mete can still be the V.P., but I'll do the day to day stuff. ![]() | |

| Yeah, the Aviator houses are okay but beware of the Woods of Vero and the Pines of Vero. Mike Cohen's arrangement with the Woods is illegal and from what I've heard this place is a scary crack den. 18% of folks liked it. Read the reviews, they'll make you laugh:- http://www.apartmentratings.com/rate...ero-Beach.html And the picture:- ![]() The Pines is better but still kind of ghetto. In fact 39% of reviewers liked it. But for $500 per month? No way man. http://www.apartmentratings.com/rate...s-Of-Vero.html The picture:- ![]() Property is how Mike Cohen makes his money. Get on that website link I posted and find yourself something that offers good value! |

| Seems like my picture of the Pines didn't come out. I'll try again. It's fully equpped you know:- ![]() Part time work is possible. Try not to work until you get to the instructor rating. Blow through the instrument and commercial as fast as you can and THEN get a part time job. Nice deal with the apartment. Need any roomates? So, are Aviator taking the accomodation costs off the course? How does that work? |

| if your baseing your flight school choice on which one has the better housing situation, you're an idiot! pick a flight school that can give you the flight training you are looking for, or want. for me, the aviator was the perfect choice. And the housing wasnt bad either. I dont know whats wrong with the houses you all are talking about. I lived on 13th ST SW. It was great. $450 was the rent and utilities were included. NEVER had a problem with the washer, dryer, dishwasher, airconditioning, etc. The only time we had a problem was when we had two hurricanes hit the area in a two week span and not me, nor my roommates where smart enough to throw away our food in the fridge. We called Mike and Peggy. Peggy had some out there in 24 hours. NOTE: I am NOT a PAID person from the aviator. Nor have I ever been given nor accepted anything from them for my comments on here. ok... rant over.
