Hi all I am thinking of going to Ari Ben next year. I am not from the US and I am getting conflicting information regarding the prerequisites for obtaining the 24 month J1 visa. A few years ago, I was told by a Comair recruitment person that you could not get the J1 visa if you had more than 10 hours of prior flight experience. Mary at Ari Ben emailed me saying that there is no maximum logged flight time limitation to obtain a J-1. FlightSafety says that you cannot have more than 100 hours of logged flight time (see http://www.flightsafetyacademy.com/c...ernational.php) Scandinavian Aviation Academy says that to obtain a J-1 visa, you cannot have more than a PPL with more than 50 logged flight hours (see http://www.scanavia.com/admissions/visa_info.htm) DCA says you must not have more than PPL to obtain a J-1 visa (see http://www.deltaconnectionacademy.co...2007-17-06.pdf) One post on PPrune.org says that you cannot have more than 50 hours after obtaining a PPL. Another post on PPrune says that the limit was raised to 70 hours after getting a PPL. Anyone have a clear answer to this? Francis |
