By the way, I think SCREWS are for boats.....PROPS are for planes. If you're gonna try and disparage the TP drivers out there.....you should try to come up w/ a better dig. Because that one doesn't fly.

As I said before, if you're burning kerosene, you're good to go!

And that my friends, IS THE BOTTOM LINE!

Anyhow, I'm glad to hear things are going well for you at XJT. It's always good to hear fellow Aviator's doing well in this crazy profession called Aviation.
where you based at?

I know micahs in Syracus. I dont know where james is at. Brewer, Neil, Manny, and now Kyle, all got hired at XJT. Everyone is past training and IOE except Kyle cause he just got hired.

who from the aviator is now at Colgan? I heard Jess got a job at Skywest.

Don't forget Doug, he got hired at Xjet and just started training... James is based in Altoona, i think.

Didn't Jens get hired at Skywest, or was that rumor.

Yup Jens is at Skywest, just listen for the German accent on the radio. Joe just got hired at Colgan, about 3 instructors made the trip up north for the interview today.

First off, what im about to say has nothing to do with colgan pilots. great bunch of people (the ones ive met) that is in a sucky company.

Heres my view on colgan: one year training contract, flys at max 17,000 feet, goes 290knots (i think), MEL's all over the place, NO per diem, props not jets. Those are just some of what ive seen.

We were comming into Houston a couple days ago and the approach guy asks a colgan plane "why some days are you restricted to 185knots?" what was his answer "Maintenance". 185knots? we're told to keep up the speed to 310 or greater sometimes, unless of course we're under 10,000 then its 250.

ok rant over. here come the punches...

Your version of a 'good' quality of life might be a lot different than someone elses. What happens if you live in Altoona PA or Augusta, ME. Colgan gives you an awesome QOL.

I've been up to FL250 in the 19hondo numerous times. Who cares about flying fast? Its fun to go up the Maine Coast at 1500 feet. You burn a lot more fuel (fuel=money) than we do going from NY to Albany, Norfolk, Manchester, or Syracuse and the flight time is the same. MELs, lights burn out, Air Conditioning breaks, and you don't need pressurization when you are flying at 6000 feet. We are a lot more versatile and manueverable below 10K than a jet can imagine.

What makes it a bad company?
