Alright, I've been training out of M and M for the past month and a half or so. I'll try to be as impartial as possible, but it's going to be difficult as this FBO just stands out in my opinion as one of the best. Fairfield Co / Winnsboro SC airport is a single RWY, 22/4. One FBO, with a number of single engine and a couple multi engine aircraft. The field sees a good deal of helo traffic on Fridays / Saturdays as local, and state law enforcement pilot-cops do their training. Most aircraft I have seen in the pattern at a time was 4, myself, another 172, an Aztec, and a Bonanza. South Hospitality spreads like a wildfire out of there. From Debbie at the front desk, to Chris, and I think the head mechanic Russ. They know how to treat people well. Rob Hegler is my instructor, and after 4 previous instructors, he has been the most educated and it shows. He has a great teaching style that can help anyone get back into flying. He is the only instructor I know out of the field, so I can't comment on any of the other guys/gals. There are 4 or 5 other ones that instruct out of M and M, I just have yet to see / meet them. If your travels ever take you to the Columbia area, make a stop at Fairfield and enjoy the customer service. They will take care of you. |

Okay. . . a couple of things have changed. Primarily, the owners. Instead of M & M Aviation, it is now S & S Aviation. Two new owners. I'm not too familiar with the new owners as I haven't been up there except for once since the change of command. The rates for rental and instruction remain unchanged. |
