Default Good Places to Live in Vero/Ft Pierce

Good morning everybody! Well we're exactly 3 weeks away from making our move from Oklahoma City to Florida and scouring the "Rent.com's" like crazy. Found ALOT of (what appears to be) really nice properties to rent in our price range (1000 to 1400 mo.) The hard part of never having been in the area before is knowing a good area (up scale, low crime etc) from a not so good area to live. We are interested in mainly Condo's, townhouses, and apartments (2 Bed units or 1 Bed with a Den/Office) We'd love to hear about any complexes, gated communities or just plain great streets to live on in the area. See you soon!

Rudy

I lived in Sabal Chase in Fort Pierce for about 8 months. It was brand new when I lived there back in 2001, so it was nice in that respect. Fort Pierce of kind of ghetto though, I would choose Vero Beach instead if I had to do it over. There are far more things to do in Vero anyway. Good luck!

Vero is definitely the place to live as opposed to Fort Pierce. I lived at Canterbury Place Apartments on 16th St. and 40th Ave in Vero Beach. It's about a 15 minute drive to the school. All apartments are ground level with small courtyards (2 apartments per building). We had a two bedroom/1 bathroom apartment which was about $650/mo. They should have shorter lease specials for flight school students. There usually is a waiting list but its worth checking into. Let me know if I can be any help.
