Just wondering if anyone here has used the David Clark (military) version with the wire and mike mod kit in Aviator's aircraft? If so does it work ok? I hear that the mike is somewhat less sensitive than the civil aviation David Clarks.

Got it! Thanks for the links buddy you just saved me a couple a hundred bucks! Hey incidentally I took a look at some of your posts and you mentioned being in Okinawa. I'm retired USAF (got out in '03) and was based at Kadena twice. The first time was when I first came over in '83 to '86 (dating myself) I was a life support tech working on F15C survival equipment in the 12th FS aka: "Dirty Dozen" They've since moved the squadron to Elmendorf Afb Alaska now. Second time was from '94 to '98, I brought my wife and son over. I was with the 961st AACS (AWACS) flying as an Airborne Weapons Director (I retrained right after my first PCS to Okinawa). My family loved it! I've had so many good experiences there and the Japanese are such genuinely good people. Being born and raised in Hawaii, Okinawa was almost as good as being home. I miss the food (Yakisoba, Okazu, Udon etc) And I miss the ocean! Have you gotten to do any diving there? The visibility is phenomenal! On an average day at Meada Point we would get 50 feet easy, and on a good day 70+ was common, I bet even Florida doesn't get that good LOL. Anyway I'm rambling, thanks again and best of luck to you, oh and for your upcoming long ride home, try a little "Melatonin" to get you to sleep. It's a natural sleep hormone our bodies produce and they managed to make a pill out of it and put it in a bottle (go figure). If you can't find it at Kadena's BX try Camp Foster's. It was the only sleep aid our flight docs would approve of while I was there. Good Luck

Right on, i've been out here for over 4 years now and I love it. Got my dive license a few years ago, and yeah, the visibility out here is incredbile. Unfortuantely I didn't get to dive too much this yearr, broke my ankle in June. All that food you mentioned, I pretty much get to eat on a daily basis thanks to a japanese wife ![]() Thanks for the melatonin suggestions, I'll check out the BX in the morning. |
