| Hi Peeps, I'v been reading here for about 2 years now, finally managed to save enough money and now I'm coming to Ari Ben this October I can't wait. I'v just paid my deposit and sent all my forms to Mike. Now I'v got to play the waiting game, see what I need to do next. 3 Months of Study time though so hopefully be in the right frame of mind when I get to Florida. Do you have any advice of things I should bring with me and what I should buy when I arrive. Yours Aye Phil |

If you're coming over from the UK, bring what you need that you can't get here or that you really want to have with you. Of course things like your IDs and any other paperwork you'll need, etc. and your clothes that you'll want. Things like bedsheets and shower curtains, etc. can be bought here without spending a lot. Khakis and Aviator shirts can be gotten around this area or you can also order the Aviator shirts from places here in the US and if you get a couple and a kneeboard/foggles/etc it's probably cheaper to order them rather than just buying them at the pilot shop here at the airport. That said, they still get some of my money! If you have a laptop, you will probably want that with you, otherwise just see how much stuff you can fit into your bags! See you in October Phil!

Everything, thats everything(!), is cheaper when you get over here. Do some research into the best way to move your money accross. I used XE Trade for electronic transfers into a US bank account I'd previously set up. The difference between that and the rate from a high street bank on £20K+ is more than $2000. Really! Moving your money at the right time for the best exchange rate is also important. |
